On this page I will do my best to define terms that are often used in the jewelry business. These terms can be very confusing and misleading at times.
Cabochons - A gemstone cut that is rounded instead of angled. Opals are usually cut "en cabochon".
Faceted - A cut gemstone
Scottish Pebble Jewelry - Usually refers to jewelry set with agate or jasper that was found in Scotland. It became very popular after Queen Victoria discovered it and had jewelry commissioned for herself.
